Irish golfer and Global Brand Ambassador for Immedis, Shane Lowry will wear the 20×20 logo in lieu of Immedis on his shirt for the 2020 Irish Open
Tuesday 22 Sept 2020: Immedis, a specialist division of the Taxback Group, has today announced Global Brand Ambassador, Shane Lowry will wear the 20×20 logo in place of the Immedis logo, at the upcoming Irish Open.
Immedis is delighted to be an official supporter of the 20×20 movement and to help create a cultural shift in our perception of girls and women in sport.
Commenting on the announcement, Shane Lowry said, “Sport has always been something special for me. Not only has it given me a livelihood, but it has also given me tremendous pleasure both when playing it and watching it. No matter what my daughter Iris does in the future, I hope that she gets the same enjoyment from sport that I have. I want her to have role models, and I want more than anything for her to have the same opportunities that boys would have”. Watch the video here
Shane’s support for the movement highlights the 20×20 message to #ThinkItAskIt in order to provoke more progress for women’s sport. The nationwide call to arms draws attention to the choice we all have in what happens next and how, by all asking questions, of society and of ourselves, we can change the future for women in sport in Ireland. CEO of Immedis, Ruairi Kelleher added, “I am extremely proud to be able to lend our voice to the 20×20 movement and I hope it will raise awareness of this incredibly important movement. As a father of a daughter, it is something I am extremely passionate about and, while our action is very simple, we hope that the impact can leave a significant legacy”.
Sarah Colgan, 20×20 Founder and CEO, Along Came A Spider added, “20×20 isn’t women for women, it’s all of society for all of society. It’s so important to have top male athletes support women in sport. Proud to see Shane wear the 20×20 logo at The Irish Open 2020 and proud to have Immedis as a partner.”
Earlier this year Immedis announced 20×20 Ambassador Stephanie Meadow as a Global Brand Ambassador, further demonstrating their support of women in sport. The collaboration with Stephanie and becoming an official supporter of the 20×20 movement is a reflection of Immedis’ values and constant support of women at all levels. Eight of the nine companies under Taxback Group have women at director levels with six of the companies are led by women. Taxback Group was also named as one of the top places to work for women in 2020. Immedis’ support of the 20×20 campaign recognizes the company’s strong diversity values and support to women in the sporting space.
